Desmond Daniel Amofah, better known as Etika, was an American YouTuber and online streamer. He gained popularity for his highly energetic reactions to Super Smash Bros. character reveals, Nintendo Direct presentations, and for playing and reacting to various games. In the last few months before his death, Etikas behavior became erratic, leading followers to believe that he was struggling with mental health issues.

On June 19, 2019, Etika was reported missing by the New York City Police Department. Prior to his disappearance, he had posted a video on YouTube that was interpreted as a suicidal message. His body was later found in the East River in New York, and his cause of death was determined to be suicide by drowning. Etika's passing highlighted the importance of addressing mental health struggles, particularly among content creators and online personalities.
