Jimmy Savile was an English media personality who was exposed as one of Britains most prolific child sexual abusers. He never faced trial for his crimes and died a national treasure. Saviles reported crimes began as early as 1955 and werent properly revealed until after his death in 2011. He was accused of assaulting women with brain damage, patients of Stoke Mandeville Hospital, an 11-year-old cancer patient, and many others. He was also given free access to the mortuary at Leeds, where he confessed to interfering with the bodies, including committing sexual acts on them. Saviles lasting legacy is that his case has become the benchmark against which related offenders and offenses can be assessed.
