He has called Hamilton a seven‑time world champion and said he is arguably the best driver in Formula 1 history, adding that he himself is “not even close” to that level and might never be. Norris has also acknowledged that he sometimes says things he regrets about rivals like Hamilton and tries to show more respect than people realise.

On social media, Norris has also made light‑hearted or admiring remarks, such as commenting “Don” under Hamilton’s first Ferrari photo, using an Italian term similar to “boss” to praise Hamilton’s stature and style. This kind of comment fits with the more relaxed, friendly tone he sometimes uses when talking about Hamilton outside the heat of racing.
