The Georgia Guidestones were a granite monument that stood in Elbert County, Georgia, United States, from 1980 to 2022. The monument was 19 feet 3 inches (5.87 m) tall and made from six granite slabs weighing a total of 237,746 pounds (107,840 kg). The monument was sometimes referred to as an "American Stonehenge". The monument had a set of 10 principles engraved on it in eight different languages, including Arabic, English, Hebrew, Hindi, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, and Traditional Chinese. The principles were:

  1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
  2. Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
  3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
  4. Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
  5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
  6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
  7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
  8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
  9. Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite.
  10. Be not a cancer on the Earth — Leave room for nature — Leave room for nature.

The monuments creators believed that there was going to be an upcoming social, nuclear, or economic calamity and they wanted the monument to serve as a guide. The monument was destroyed in 2022 after being damaged in an explosion.
