The Harvard Crimson football program is one of the oldest in the world, having begun competing in the sport in 1873. The Crimson has a legacy that includes 13 national championships and 20 College Football Hall of Fame inductees. Harvard is also part of the Ivy League, which is a group of eight private institutions of higher education in the northeastern United States. The Ivy League is part of the NCAA Division I for all sports, including football.
