Plastic 3D printing filaments are usually sold in spools with either a glossy or matte texture. The most common 3D printing method that uses plastic material is fused deposition modeling (FDM), where thermoplastic filaments are melted and shaped one layer at a time. Other materials used in 3D printing include metals like stainless steel, solder, aluminum, and titanium, as well as composite materials that combine plastics with metals, wood, and other materials.
