In Minecraft, Allays are passive mobs that collect items for players. They are blue fairy-like creatures that players can befriend by giving them an item. Once befriended, players can hand an Allay a certain item, and it will hunt around in a nearby area until it has gathered a stack of that item. It will then return to the player and deliver the stack of items. Allays are incredibly useful for players who like mining, building, and generally gathering resources. They can also be used to hoover up any materials that players may have missed or forgotten to pick up. Allays cannot mine blocks on their own, but they can help automate projects for players once they learn how to best use their help. Additionally, Allays love music, and when theyre near a playing jukebox, theyll begin to dance. If players give an amethyst shard to a dancing Allay, it will duplicate into a second Allay.
