To renew your Canadian passport, you need to follow these steps:

1. Complete the application form: You can download a copy of the adult passport application form from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

2. Prepare passport photos: You need to provide two identical passport photos that meet the governments requirements.

3. Include your old passport: You must include your old passport with your application.

4. Provide references: You must have two people who have known you for at least two years serve as your references. Most family members are not allowed to be references when renewing your passport.

5. Pay the fees: The application fee changes depending on certain factors, such as if you are applying from in or outside Canada, your age, and other factors. You can pay for your application by credit card, debit card, or with a certified cheque or money order. Receiving agents can accept cash payments in exact change.

In addition to the above, you must also meet the eligibility requirements to renew your passport. You can only renew your Canadian passport if your last passport:

• Was an adult passport that was issued when you were at least 16 years old and within 15 years of the date you apply for your renewal.
• Was valid for 5 or 10 years.
• Has the same name, date of birth, and place of birth as you want on your new passport.
• Has the same gender identifier as you want on your new passport (either printed on your current passport or the observation sticker).
• Has expired on or after February 1, 2019.

You must also provide proof that you need the passport, such as an airline, bus, or train ticket, a travel itinerary showing proof of payment, or proof of illness or death in the family.
