Nursing assistants can be found in nursing care facilities, assisted living centers, hospitals, home healthcare agencies, continuing care retirement communities, and hospices. They are physically active and may need to help lift or move patients. Nursing assistants often need to complete a state-approved education program and pass their states competency exam to become licensed or certified. The median annual wage for nursing assistants was $35,760 in May 2022.
