In Dungeons and Dragons, inspiration is a game mechanic that the Dungeon Master (DM) can use to reward players for roleplaying their character in a way that reflects their bonds, flaws, ideals, and personality traits at character creation. Inspiration is awarded by the DM for playing a character in a way thats true to their personality traits, ideals, bonds, and flaws. A player can only have one inspiration at a time, and they can use it to gain advantage on an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. A player can also give their inspiration to another player as a reward for good roleplaying, clever thinking, or doing something exciting in the game. The DM will tell the players how they can earn inspiration in the game.
