It should work within 30 to 60 minutes, and you can take up to 8 doses in 24 hours.

Pepto-Bismol is typically safe for most people, but it should be avoided if you are allergic to salicylates (including aspirin or NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, naproxen, and celecoxib), have an active, bleeding ulcer, or are passing bloody stools or black stools that aren’t caused by Pepto-Bismol.
