The Quran mentions the Children of Israel many times, and a major portion of the Quran consists of the story of Moses and the Children of Israel. Israel is the name of Prophet Jacob and his children and descendants who came to be known as the Children of Israel or the Israelites. The Quran specifies that the Land of Israel is the homeland of the Jewish people, that God Himself gave that Land to them as heritage and ordered them to live therein. However, due to current political circumstances, many Muslims have a tendency to regard all Jews as inherently “bad,” and often they will refer to the Quran in order to prove this point of view. The Quran goes in depth about the history of Banu Israel, including their trials and crimes. The Quran also warns the Children of Israel that they will certainly cause corruption in the land twice, and they will become extremely arrogant.
