Dak Prescott was drafted with the 135th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Seven quarterbacks were drafted ahead of him, including Jared Goff and Carson Wentz, who were the first two picks of the draft. Prescott was the eighth quarterback selected in the draft.
