To determine which Dyson vacuum you have, you can look for the model number or serial number on the vacuum itself. Here are some ways to find the model or serial number:
-
LCD Screen: If you own a Dyson Gen5detect™ or the Dyson Gen5outsize™, your serial number is found by accessing the settings menu on your LCD screen.
-
Behind the filter: For legacy Dyson machines, press the filter release catch located on the top of the machine and pull the cyclone away from the main body. Lift the filter out of the main body using the tab. The serial number may be located behind the filter.
-
Under the battery: To find out what Dyson model you have, locate the label on the back of the battery pack. When you remove the battery, you’ll be able to see the name and model number of your vacuum.
-
Behind the dust cup/bin: For Dyson stick vacuums, the model number is frequently located behind the dust cup/bin and on the bottom of the battery often on a shiny sticker.
-
On the vacuum label: The easiest method is to locate the label on the back of the battery pack. The name and model of your Dyson vacuum cleaner should be listed right there on the battery.
Once you have found the model or serial number, you can visit the Dyson website to learn more about your vacuum and find the right parts and accessories for it.
