The eclipse that will occur on April 8, 2024, is a total solar eclipse that will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. It will be visible in parts of Mexico, Canada, and more than 10 US states, while a crescent-shaped partial solar eclipse is visible across nearly all of North America and a sliver of western Europe. The path of totality, where the Moon covers the Sun completely, causing a total eclipse, runs through Mexico (from Sinaloa to Coahuila), the USA (from Texas to Maine), and Canada (from Ontario to Newfoundland) .
