The eclipse that will occur in October 2023 is an annular solar eclipse that will take place on October 14, 2023. It will be visible in North, Central, and South America, and will be partially visible in many other countries. The eclipse will begin over the Pacific Ocean and will make landfall in Oregon, then it will continue south through Central America to Brazil. The Moon will pass between Earth and the Sun, blocking most of the Suns light and causing the Sun to look like an annulus (ring) . The maximum eclipse will last for about 5 minutes, and the whole event will take about three hours.
