Spiders are repelled by strong scents, especially those that require direct contact. Essential oils can be used to repel spiders, and there are several options available:

• Peppermint oil
• Citrus oils such as orange, lemon, and lime
• Eucalyptus oil
• Citronella
• Cedarwood
• Tea tree
• Lavender

To use essential oils for spiders, there are a few methods:

• Apply a line of oil across an entry point where spiders may be entering your home.
• Dilute the oil with water, put it in a spray bottle, and cover a larger area where you’ve found spiders.
• Soak a cotton ball with oil and put it either in access points or places where spiders like to hang out.

Its important to note that while peppermint oil is usually said to be the most effective, it should not be used around children under 6. If you have a little one, you can choose a different oil to spray, such as lavender.
