According to the most commonly used definition, people born in 1978 are part of Generation X, which is generally defined as people born from 1965 to 1980. However, some people born in this time period may identify more with the microgeneration known as Xennials, which are those born on the cusp of when Gen X-ers and Millennials meet, and therefore experienced world events, and especially technology, in unique ways particular to their age. Xennials were born some time between 1977 and 1983.
