Fleetwood Mac is a British-American rock band that has undergone significant stylistic evolution over the course of their career. Initially, they were conceived as a hard-edged British blues combo in the late 60s, but they gradually evolved into a polished pop/rock act over the course of a decade. Throughout all of their incarnations, the only consistent members of Fleetwood Mac were drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie. The band has been described as having played rock, pop rock, folk rock, soft rock, blues rock, and art pop.
