There are several grants available for home improvements in Ireland. Here are some of the options:

• Home Renovation Incentive: This grant provides tax relief for homeowners who are carrying out renovation or improvement works on their home. The relief is given in the form of a tax credit, which can be used to reduce the amount of income tax owed.

• Better Energy Homes Scheme: This scheme provides grants to homeowners who want to improve the energy efficiency of their home. The grants are available for a range of upgrades, including insulation, heating controls, and solar panels.

• SEAI Home Energy Grants: The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland offers a variety of home improvement grants which contribute to retrofitting costs, depending on the type of upgrade process you decide upon. The grants are available for upgrades such as attic insulation, wall insulation, heating controls, and heat pumps.

The procedure to apply for home improvement grants is straightforward and easy to understand. There are two options available to you in the grant application process: One Stop Shop and Self-Administered. The One Stop Shop retrofitting process is managed for you by An Post, in partnership with SSE Airtricity. The Self-Administered option allows you to manage the grant process and the entire upgrade process yourself, including building contractor, project management, and financing.
