Yuta Okkotsu is a character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He is the main character in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, which reveals his backstory. In the movie, Yuta accidentally turned his friend Rika into a curse demon because he couldn’t accept her death. This led to Yuta gaining access to curse energy and becoming a strong jujutsu sorcerer who has the potential to surpass the likes of Satoru Gojo. At the end of the movie, Yuta was seen in a different country along with a sorcerer who had initially sided with Geto Suguru, the antagonist.

In the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series, Yuta has not yet made an appearance, but he is introduced in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie. After the events of the movie, Yuta went overseas to study and train. Throughout the Shibuya Incident arc of the manga, Yuta was overseas, working on his craft as a jujutsu sorcerer. He returned to Tokyo after Satoru Gojo was sealed. Yutas time abroad focused on training, exploration, and more.

It is unlikely that Yuta will appear in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, which is about the Shibuya Incident arc. However, Yuta should eventually be in the anime, specifically in the Itadori’s Extermination arc, which is after the Shibuya Incident. Fans who like Yuta or are curious and want to see more of him will have to wait a bit longer for his full anime debut.
