According to recent news reports, a cloudburst in North Sikkim caused a sudden rise in the water level of river Teesta, triggering flash floods. As a result, the death toll has risen to 56, and over 100 people are still missing. The Indian Army is continuing its search for the missing soldiers who were swept away in the flash floods.
