21 Savage, whose real name is She’yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on February 3, 2019. Officials revealed that he was a British citizen who entered the United States on a non-immigrant visa in July 2005, when he was 12, which expired after one year. He was released on bond after turning himself in to local authorities on suspicion of felony drug possession and weapons possession in DeKalb County, where he was accused of throwing out a bottle that had liquid in it that later tested positive for codeine, and a handgun was found inside the car. His immigration status remains in limbo due to an ongoing criminal case against him in DeKalb County, Georgia, and he ultimately faces deportation and a 10-year ban from returning to America if found guilty.
