Lawyers for the Sandy Hook families who won historic defamation damages against Jones told a federal bankruptcy judge in Houston that Jones should not be allowed to use a Chapter 11 filing to skirt more than $1 billion in damages awarded for his lies. Jones has transferred millions of dollars in property, cash, and business deals to family and friends, including to a new company run by his former personal trainer, all potentially out of reach of creditors. Despite his financial troubles, Jones continues to broadcast and plead for donations from his audience.
