Amy Cole was the longtime executive assistant to Stephen Colbert, working with him for about 16 years, including on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She passed away peacefully at the age of 53 in March 2024 after a brief illness, which has been reported to be cancer. Her death was deeply mourned by Colbert and the Late Show team. Stephen Colbert honored her memory during his acceptance speech at the 2025 Emmy Awards, dedicating his award to her and expressing how much she was missed. The Late Show also paid tribute to her with a memorial card in an episode following her death. She was highly regarded as an incredible teammate and beloved by the entire Late Show family.
