Byron Buxton is a baseball player for the Minnesota Twins. According to the search results, he has been dealing with injuries. On September 1, 2023, he suffered a knee injury in a Triple-A game while working his way back from a strained hamstring. He received a cortisone injection for his ailing right knee earlier in September and has continued hitting, throwing, and running. Its not clear whether playing center field could still be an option for Buxton or if the Twins plan to continue limiting him to designated hitter duty when/if he returns. Buxton has been on the injured list since August 4 with a strained right hamstring. He has been limited to DH duty all season, removing his elite defense from the Twins lineup. On October 4, 2023, it was reported that Buxton was out for the season and would undergo season-ending arthroscopic knee surgery next week.
