Chandi Dayle, a veteran Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader (DCC), took a temporary leave of absence from the team after breaking a major team rule during a trip to the Bahamas in the second season of the Netflix series "America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders." She invited a stranger back to her hotel room, which violated the team's strict security protocols. At the time, Chandi was struggling emotionally due to a recent abusive relationship, and she confided that the interaction was not sexual but rather a need for support during a difficult time. Following this incident and her brief absence, Chandi returned for the final game of the season, but she did not resume her leadership role. She then decided to retire from the squad after six years. Post-DCC, she has been recovering from hip surgery and has taken a role judging a collegiate pomline team while focusing on her personal recovery and growth. She expressed that the year helped her find who she really is after being scared to be without dance, which was her safe space.

The Bahamas incident also caused some divisions within the team, leading to another cheerleader, KayDianna, stepping in as group leader but eventually leaving the team following an internal investigation related to the fallout from the situation.
