Chandrayaan-3 is a lunar mission by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) that successfully landed on the Moon on August 23, 2023. The mission has a duration of 14 days, which is equivalent to one lunar day. During this time, the Pragyan rover will carry out a series of experiments on the surface of the Moon and send the data to the lander, which will then send it to Earth. However, after 14 days, there will be night on the Moon, which will last for 14 days, and both the lander and the rover will become inactive without sunlight. Since they are solar-powered, they can only work in the sun. Nevertheless, ISRO scientists remain hopeful that the lander and rover may come back to life when the sun rises again. If the systems manage to survive until the next lunar day, the rover could potentially resume its exploration. However, this will be known only once the lunar night ends and ISRO scientists check on the lander and rovers systems.
