Crystal Rogers disappeared from her home in Bardstown, Kentucky, United States, on July 3, 2015. Her boyfriend at the time said she disappeared from their home overnight, and her car was found on a nearby highway two days later. Rogers family believes the boyfriend was involved in foul play, and he was considered a suspect after he broke off an interview. Her family also believes the case is connected to the unsolved 2016 shooting death of Rogers father while hunting.
After nearly eight years of investigation, Brooks Houck, Rogers boyfriend at the time and father to one of her children, was arrested and charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence. Joseph Lawson was also arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection with the case. Rogers body has not been recovered, but she is presumed dead.
The FBI has conducted two searches in Bardstown, the first in August 2020 and the second in August 2021. The second search took place in the Woodlawn Springs subdivision, where Brooks Houcks construction company built several houses shortly after the disappearance of Crystal Rogers. The FBI has made significant progress in bringing the case to its rightful conclusion and continues to pursue every available lead until those responsible for Rogers disappearance are held accountable.
