In the TV series "Band of Brothers," Lieutenant Norman Dike is portrayed as an incompetent character who cracks under pressure during the assault on Foy. However, in real life, Dike exhibited bravery and leadership during WWII. After the war, Dike went on to achieve notable professional success, including becoming a member of the N.Y. and D.C. Law Bars, working for the CIA, and acting as vice president and comptroller of the United Western Minerals Company. He also raised a family that remembers him to this day. Dike was transferred to 506th Regimental Headquarters to become an assistant operations officer after the assault on Foy. He then moved on to become an aide to General Maxwell Taylor, Commanding General, 101st Airborne Division, and later served in the Korean War. Dike died in Switzerland in 1989.
