Freddie Flintoff, the former England cricket captain and co-host of the BBC show Top Gear, was involved in a car crash while filming a segment for the show at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey on December 13, 2022. He was driving an open-topped three-wheel Morgan Super 3 at 130 mph when it flipped and slid along the track, leaving him with facial injuries and several broken ribs. Flintoff was airlifted to the hospital and spent five weeks there. He kept a low profile after the crash, and his injuries were hidden by sunglasses when he was photographed in public in April 2023. However, he made his first public appearance with visible scars to his face and tape on his nose in September 2023, when he was seen leading drills ahead of Englands first match against New Zealand in Cardiff. Flintoff ultimately quit Top Gear, reportedly due to the emotional and physical impact of the crash.
