According to the search results, Geno Smith, the quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, sustained a knee injury during a game against the New York Giants on Monday night football. The injury occurred in the second quarter when Smith caught his own batted pass and tried to escape the pocket around the end. Linebacker Isaiah Simmons jumped on Smiths back to bring him down, causing the QBs legs to twist awkwardly underneath him. Smith initially went to the sidelines, but he re-entered and began jawing with Giants defensive back Xavier McKinney. Smith had trouble moving on the next snap and nearly threw a side-armed pick to Kayvon Thibodeaux. It fell harmlessly to the turf, but the good news ended there when Smith spent New Yorks next drive in the blue medical tent and was unable to return to the game. Despite what was ruled as a knee injury, Geno Smith returned to action in the second half of the game. After the game, Smith called the tackle by Simmons a "dirty play".
