Gypsy Rose Blanchard is a woman who was convicted of killing her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, in 2015. Gypsy grew up with her mother making false claims about her health, resulting in a series of dire diagnoses and medical interventions. Dee Dee claimed that Gypsy had different illnesses when she was a baby, and as Gypsy grew older, Dee Dee began to lie about her age, going so far as to alter the dates on Gypsys birth certificate to make her daughter seem younger. Gypsy convinced a man she met online to kill Dee Dee, and she was sentenced to 10 years in prison for her role in the murder. Gypsy has stated that it was only after Dee Dees death that she realized she was not actually sick. During her time in prison, Gypsy met and married another man. She has been granted parole and will be released from prison on December 28, 2023, three years before her original release date.
