According to the search results, Hendon Hooker is a quarterback who was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during Tennessees game on November 19, 2022. He had surgery on December 13, 2022, and his orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, sent a letter to every NFL team declaring Hooker would be medically cleared by the first weekend of the regular season in hopes to not have teams weary of selecting Hooker in the upcoming draft. Hooker was expected to remain on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list for the entirety of 2023 training camp. He was not expected to take any camp or preseason reps until at least 2024, leaving veteran backup Nate Sudfeld as the unchallenged No. 2 behind starter Jared Goff. Hooker was still rehabbing from his injury as of August 2023.
