Inside Edition is an American news broadcasting newsmagazine program that is distributed in first-run syndication by CBS Media Ventures. It premiered on January 9, 1989, and is the longest-running syndicated-newsmagazine program that is not strictly focused on hard news. The program features a mix of infotainment stories, entertainment news and gossip, scandals, true-crime stories, and lifestyle features. When Inside Edition first premiered, the programs format originally took on a high-brow approach, focusing on general news and investigative journalism. The first anchor of the program was David Frost, who was demoted to a correspondent role after approximately three weeks, due to poor ratings under the original concept. In point of fact, Inside Edition was one of the original "Big Three" tabloid journalism-style newsmagazines of the early 1990s on American television – alongside Foxs A Current Affair and Paramounts Hard Copy – which fiercely competed with each other in syndication during that period.

As of October 2023, Inside Edition is still on the air and has kicked off its 36th season. Deborah Norville is the current anchor of the program. The show continues to evolve and expand, with over 11 million subscribers on YouTube and 1 million followers on TikTok. The programs website states that it is produced daily at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City and produced and distributed by CBS Television Distribution, a unit of CBS Corp. Inside Editions Investigative Unit has consistently produced a variety of hard-hitting reports, exposing scams, rip-offs, and hazards that threaten the safety of consumers. As a result, Inside Edition has received some of journalism’s most prestigious honors, including the George Polk Award, the Investigative Reporters and Editors Medal, National Press Club Awards, Sigma Delta Chi Awards, Headliner Awards, the Prism, and EMMA Awards.
