Jeffrey Dahmer was a notorious American serial killer and sex offender who killed and dismembered seventeen males between 1978 and 1991. He was sentenced to 15 consecutive life sentences in prison, equivalent to 941 years, after being convicted of 15 murders. On November 28, 1994, Dahmer was beaten to death by fellow inmate Christopher Scarver at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin. Scarver was serving a 25-year sentence for an armed robbery-turned-murder and had entered the prison around the same time as Dahmer in 1992. Dahmer was 34 years old at the time of his death. Scarver killed Dahmer by beating him to death with a metal bar, leaving him battered and bloody on the floor. Jesse Anderson, another inmate, was also killed by Scarver during the same incident. Scarver later revealed that Dahmer would often taunt and upset other inmates by fashioning food to look like severed limbs and leaving them in public places.
