Jérôme Boateng is a German professional footballer who last played as a center-back for French Ligue 1 club Lyon. His contract with Lyon ran out on 30 June 2021, and he subsequently became a free agent before opting to sign for Lyon. Recently, there were reports that he was training with Bayern Munich, and there were speculations that he could return to the club. However, Bayern Munich has decided not to re-sign him, and he will not be returning to the FC Bayern Munich squad. Despite this, Boateng will reportedly continue to train with Bayern Munich U23s, after rejecting offers from Brazil and Russia.
