According to multiple sources, including NBC Sports and Pro Football Network, Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields was injured during the teams game against the Minnesota Vikings on October 15, 2023. Fields appeared to injure his right hand during the Bears first third-quarter drive after taking a sack from Vikings pass rusher Danielle Hunter. He was briefly checked on the sideline and then went into the locker room. Fields has been ruled out for the remainder of the game with a hand injury. Undrafted rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent came in to replace Fields. According to Sports Illustrated, Fields dislocated his thumb on his throwing hand and will undergo an MRI on Monday.
