Len Goodman, a former judge on Dancing with the Stars, passed away at the age of 78 on April 22, 2023, after battling bone cancer. His death certificate revealed that he died after prostate cancer spread to his bones. Goodman was a professional dancer and won numerous awards before becoming a judge on the BBC’s ballroom competition Strictly Come Dancing and the U.S. adaptation Dancing with the Stars on ABC. He retired from the ABC reality competition after Season 31 to spend more time with his family. The show honored him at the beginning of Season 32 with a touching tribute and renamed the ultimate prize, the Mirrorball Trophy, in his honor. The producers of the show had no intention of filling Goodmans post on the show, even before his death, as they felt he was irreplaceable.
