Letty Ortiz is a character in the Fast and Furious franchise. In the 2009 movie Fast & Furious, Letty is seemingly killed offscreen by Fenix Calderon, the right-hand man of lead antagonist Arturo Braga. However, it is later revealed that Letty was doing undercover work to take down Braga and faked her death to keep herself and Dominic Toretto safe. The first hints of her return occur in the post-credits scene of Fast Five, where Monica Fuentes reveals to Luke Hobbs that Letty is actually alive. Lettys amnesia in Fast & Furious 6 meant that she could follow Owen Shaws orders and attempt to kill her former allies. However, following Letty and Torettos street race and Toretto saving Lettys life during the tank chase, Letty regains her memories and rejoins Torettos crew.

Michelle Rodriguez, the actress who plays Letty, was not told about her characters survival and found out by going to see Fast Five in the theater.
