Mia Toretto is a character in the Fast and Furious franchise, played by Jordana Brewster. She is the younger sister of Dominic Toretto and a prominent member of his crew. Mias romantic relationship with Brian OConner, played by the late Paul Walker, is a significant part of the franchise. In the seventh film, Furious 7, Mia and Brian retire from the outlaw life to devote themselves to fatherhood. This creative decision was motivated by the real-life tragic death of Walker. Mia did not appear in the eighth film, The Fate of the Furious, due to the characters absence being explained by Brians retirement and the need to stay home with their children. However, Mia is slated to appear in the ninth film, F9, which will see Dom facing a new threat and reuniting with his crew. According to some sources, Mias appearance in the latest installment highlights that the time has come for the character to be written out of the series for the sake of both her story and that of her partner, Brian O’Conner.
