Outkast is an American hip-hop duo formed in 1992 in East Point, Georgia, consisting of André 3000 and Big Boi. They released their debut album "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik" in 1994, which received critical acclaim and helped to establish them as one of the most innovative and influential hip-hop acts of the 1990s and 2000s. In 2003, OutKast dropped a double album, "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below," which sparked rumors of a breakup. However, André clarified in a 2004 interview with Rolling Stone that he and Big Boi were good, but his album was initially supposed to be the launch of his solo career. Two years later, OutKast dropped what would be their final project together, "Idlewild," which was the soundtrack to their film of the same name. In 2007, the duo announced an indefinite hiatus, and they have not released any new music as OutKast since then. While both André 3000 and Big Boi pursued their own solo careers, fans continued to hold out hope for an Outkast reunion. Outkast temporarily reunited to celebrate their debut albums 20th anniversary by performing at more than 40 festivals worldwide, beginning at the Coachella Festival in April 2014. In 2014, OutKast performed their last concert, #ATLast, in front of an electrified crowd in Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park. In conclusion, Outkast never officially broke up, but instead went on an extended hiatus in the mid-2000s, and both members pursued their own solo projects.
