Phil Hartman was a Canadian-born American comedian, actor, screenwriter, and graphic designer who was born on September 24, 1948, in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. He was famous for his sketches on Saturday Night Live and for his voice acting appearances on The Simpsons. Phil Hartman was married three times, and his third wife was Brynn Omdahl, with whom he had two children. Their marriage was troubled due to Phils busy work schedule on SNL and Brynns drug and alcohol abuse. On May 28, 1998, while Phil was sleeping in his bed, Brynn shot and killed him, and later killed herself. Phil Hartman was 49 years old at the time of his death.
