Rob Burrow is a former rugby league player who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) in December 2019. Since his diagnosis, he has been using a wheelchair and is cared for by his wife, Lindsey. Despite his condition, he has continued to participate in charity events and raise awareness for MND. For example, he completed the inaugural Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon in a specially adapted wheelchair, carried over the finish line by his close friend and fellow rugby player Kevin Sinfield. Sinfield has raised more than £8m for people affected by MND through sponsored running in Burrows honor. Burrow has also completed the Arena Group Leeds Mini and Junior Run with his daughters on Fathers Day. He has no regrets about playing rugby league despite his MND battle.
