Robert F. Kennedy Jr.s voice has been described as raspy and warbling. He has been public about being diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia, a rare neurological disorder that affects the voice box or larynx causing the vocal cords to spasm. Kennedy has explained that he had a very strong voice until he was 42 years old, but in 1996 he had an injury that caused the neurological disorder. Kennedy underwent surgery in Kyoto, Japan, eight months ago and is doing a bunch of alternative therapies that he thinks are making his voice a lot stronger. There is no cure for spasmodic dysphonia, but patients can undergo speech therapy or counseling.
