Robert Marcato was a friend of the Osbourne family rather than a biological child. Sharon Osbourne was close to Robert's mother, who died of cancer, and promised to take care of Robert after her death. Though not legally adopted, Robert was taken in by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne when he was about 18, and they paid for his college tuition. He appeared briefly on The Osbournes reality show, often referred to as "Baby Osbourne." After finishing college, Robert faced depression, which led to hospitalization encouraged by the family for his mental health. Later, he moved to Rhode Island to live with his estranged father and lost much contact with the Osbourne family. Robert has expressed a desire to reconnect with Kelly Osbourne, with whom he had a close sibling-like bond, but this has not happened. As of the latest reports, Robert is no longer in the public eye and his relationship with the Osbournes remains distant.
