Robert Redford had four children with his first wife, Lola Van Wagenen: two sons, Scott and James, and two daughters, Shauna and Amy. Tragically, both of his sons passed away. Scott died from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at only 2 ½ months old in 1959. James, who followed his father into filmmaking and activism, died in October 2020 after battling bile duct cancer at the age of 58. His daughters, Shauna and Amy, are alive and continue the family legacy in filmmaking and the arts. Robert Redford himself passed away on September 16, 2025, at age 89, surrounded by family.
