Suzanne Somers, the actress known for her roles in "Threes Company" and "Step by Step," died on October 15, 2023, at the age of 76. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer more than two decades ago and had been battling the disease ever since. Her cause of death was breast cancer, according to her daughter-in-law. Somers initially underwent a lumpectomy and radiation to treat her breast cancer, but refused chemotherapy. In 2007, she told the Los Angeles Times that she was cancer-free and undergoing hormone treatments. However, in July 2023, she revealed on Instagram that her cancer had returned but that she was once again cancer-free. Somers publicist and close friend, R. Couri Hay, said that while she was "weak," her family and medical team did not expect her to die. Her husband of 46 years, Alan Hamel, was by her side when she "died peacefully in her sleep".
