After the events of the Harry Potter series, the fate of the Dursley family was revealed in various sources. Here is what happened to them:

• Petunia Dursley: According to J.K. Rowling, Petunia passed away sometime before 2020, but the reason for her death was never shared.

• Vernon and Dudley Dursley: After Harry went to Hogwarts, the Dursley family was forced to accept Harrys true identity. They started to make minor improvements in their treatment of Harry, but their relationship didnt change much as he got older. Dudley was the only Dursley to show any interest in reconciling with Harry, and they eventually reunited so their children could play together. In chapter 3 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the Dursleys are forced to leave behind their home and go into hiding. Harry fears they can become a target of Voldemorts attack while Vernon thinks it is "claptrap" and a ploy to steal his house. Harry is correct as the Dursleys are indeed in danger from Lord Voldemort, Death Eaters, Dementors, and even Inferi. The Dursleys are offered the best protection by the Order, and Harry explains that Voldemort is behind the awful events reported in the news. He attributes all the disappearances, derailments, crashes, and explosions to him. Harry further adds the Dark Lord likes to kill people for fun, including the Muggles. He tells them that the fogs are caused by the Dementors, and as their son, they should know what they are. Vernon is still skeptical, but he is convinced by Kingsley Shacklebolt and Arthur Weasley.
