According to multiple sources, the Moselle estate, located at 4740 Moselle Road in Colleton County, where Alex Murdaugh killed his wife Maggie and son Paul, has been sold for $2.6 million to James Ayer and Jeffery Godley. The property is a sprawling 1,700-acre tract of land that includes a home, hunting land, woods, a dog kennel, and other structures. The proceeds of the sale will go to the Murdaugh familys surviving son, Buster, and victims of a 2019 boat crash involving Paul. The bulk of the proceeds, about $2.7 million, will go to the family of Mallory Beach, a 19-year-old woman who died in the boat crash, as well as two survivors of the crash. Buster Murdaugh will receive $530,000, and John Marvin Murdaugh, Alex Murdaugh’s younger brother, will receive $290,000 to pay off the estate’s legal fees and expenses. As a creditor, he will receive at least $12,000.
